New video from that !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! where they used a customer’s van to break down the door, stole a new Pacifica (recovered) and a customer’s Dart (recently recovered after an accident in Milwaukee) shows that one of the ALLEGED criminals gets into what looks a LOT like a Miata... but no Miata was stolen.

Perhaps it was.... MANUEL?????

Loks like a BMW Z4 to me (note the round indicator on the fender):

I was thinking Z3, but yes.

There’s quarter windows on the doors though.... maybe Katz is right, its a Z3.

I like how they go into the service garage to steal cars. You know the cars that are likely to be there for repairs, and might just brake down on you for no reason. Also why would you steal a mini van? Lol

I'm mesmerized by the fact that the dealership actually invested in a security camera not made in 1983. All security footage should be this clear.

Rob a couple of stores, fill it up, dump the stuff, ditch the van.

As other have pointed out, it may be a Z3 or it could be a Miata. Either way, you don’t actually see them driving it out. Maybe the just wanted to steal what was inside.

Definitely a BMW, probably a Z3

Yep. My money is on a Z3. There is a crease on the passengers side of the hood that lines up with a Z3. No Miata has it.

That dealership needs better key control practices.

It was recovered in a not so nice part of Milwaukee...

That’s probably why they didn’t get away with the BMW.

You’d be surprised how lax the security is inside most dealerships. Keys, dealer plates, credit forms, all kinds of stuff lying around...

Are you telling me that clearly labeling all the keys and then hanging them on a pegboard by the door to the service bay isn’t secure?

It’s a Z3 indeed, it becomes obvious if you watch it on fullscreen.
There’s the BMW badge, the indicator light below, the quarter window, the old school door handle, and a flat trunk lid. I was confused as i could see the gills on the fender

That’s what I typically see. They just trust that the office is secure.

Really? I've never seen lax security at out local Mercedes dealership. They don't let anyone in the vault room with the keys.

Like I said... MOST. ;)

I’m betting highline dealers with more expensive cars keep them a bit safer from thugs.

Right. That explains everything except the stolen Bentley Mulsanne. I’ll give you the link: http://m.ajc.com/news/news/crim…

There’s been a rash of break ins and thefts at dealers in Milwaukee lately.... all low end stuff like Dodge, Chevy, Kia.... we don’t have any really really nice brands, so that’s probably why they stick to what’s nearby the ‘hood.

Kinja'd!!! MercedesAMG > Takuro Spirit

Ah...ok. Well, in downtown Manhattan that doesn’t really happen. The closest thing to a crime is Donald Trump purchasing a new wife from Slovenia. In fact, our Mercedes dealership is really nice. They weren’t able to fix my ‘16 S550 4MATIC within four days (suspension issues and all that) so they loaned me a ‘16 G63 AMG. Granted, I had to return it two days later, but it was fun while it lasted. By the way, Chevy, Dodge, and Kia aren’t that low end. Dodge has the Challenger and Charger, Chevy has the Corvette, and Kia has the Rio. Joking, they have the K900, which I am told sounds like a robotic dog. A truly low end car is a Lada, Tata, or Daewoo.

I’d kill for a Lada dealer in the states.

I don’t know what to say. The only Lada that won’t crumple like President Taft’s chair is the Lada Niva. It was the first mass produced off road vehicle with a unibody architecture. And it can give there Wrangler a run for its money.
